Veteran Parking Privileges in Texas

Did you know you do not have to pay for metered parking (except for a branch of the federal government) if you have Disabled Veteran Plates (must have DV in license plate number)? How about the same for Medals noted in statute? Texas is known for how it treats its veterans and parking privileges are another perk.
Currently in Transportation Code 504, the following Medals are noted as eligible for no metered parking fees (except federal government parking meters):
Distinguished Flying Cross with or without Valor
World War II Army of Occupation Medal
Air Medal with or without V
Distinguished Service Medal
Commendation Medal with V
Pearl Harbor Survivor designation
Medal of Honor
Air Force Cross

Purple Heart

Defense Meritorious Service Medal

Soldier’s Medal
Navy and Marine Corps Medal
Prisoner of War Medal
Military Outstanding Volunteer Service Medal
Borinqueneers Congressional Gold Medal
Defense Superior Service Medal
Legion of Merit
